Your Role as Lead Engineer

As a Lead Engineer, you are technically responsible within multidisciplinary project teams, reporting to the Project Manager. You are involved from start to finish in the design and technical development of complex production and process installations. You combine technical expertise with leadership, creativity, and strong communication skills.

 

You are immediately deployable, work independently, and thrive in a dynamic project environment. Willingness to travel within the EMEA region is essential.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop technical designs that seamlessly integrate into our customers’ production lines.
  • Supervise and review the work of external draftsmen for quality and manufacturability.
  • Solve technical challenges related to layout, design, manufacturing, and reliability.
  • Manage projects from concept to completion and act as the technical point of contact for colleagues and clients.
  • Visit customer sites within the EMEA region to support installation and commissioning.

Your Profile

  • A completed MBO or HBO degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role within mechanical engineering or machine building.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with SolidWorks or a comparable 3D CAD package.
  • Able to work independently, think conceptually, and not afraid to get hands-on.
  • Willingness to travel within the EMEA region.
  • Excellent command of both Dutch and English, spoken and written.
  • Knowledge of transport and sorting systems or optical inspection equipment is a plus.
